Machine translation of subtitles usually breaks in two ways: lines come out too long to read before they disappear, and the timecodes get damaged so the file will not load.
This skill treats the timing as fixed and the text as the only thing that changes: - Every cue number and timecode is copied exactly. - Lines are kept to subtitle length, with separate limits for Latin scripts and for Korean, Japanese and Chinese. - Where a literal translation is too long to read in time, it is condensed, and you are told which cues. - Casual speech stays casual and a lecture stays formal.
Very long files may be split: the answer always stops at the end of a whole cue and tells you where to continue.
