Math Animation in Manim

By creatorpackai

Describe a maths or science idea and get back a Manim scene that renders on an ordinary computer: one Python file and one command, with no LaTeX to install and no Python setup to fight, animating the idea step by step the way a good teacher would explain it.

About this skill

Manim is the animation engine behind many of the best maths videos on the internet. Getting it to run is the hard part: it will not install on the newest Python releases, and its formulas need LaTeX, a multi-gigabyte install most people never finish.

This skill writes scenes that avoid both problems, checked by rendering them: - One command runs everything through uv, which fetches a Python version Manim supports. Nothing else to set up. - No LaTeX: formulas are written with ordinary Unicode (a² + b² = c², √2, π), and axis numbers are placed as plain text. - Korean, Japanese and Chinese text works, with the right font named for Windows, macOS and Linux. - Everything is kept inside the frame and explained in the order a teacher would.

You get a single scene.py and the exact command to render it to MP4.

What comes back

  • A beat-by-beat plan of the animation with timings.
  • One complete scene.py that renders to MP4 with a single command.
  • Formulas written without LaTeX, so nothing extra has to be installed.
  • Which line to change for the colours, numbers, text and pace.

What it needs from you

  • The idea to explain, and who it is for: a class, a video, a slide.
  • Optional: the length, the language on screen and the look you want.
