There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies

ESF does not set a single cookie. Not for sign-in, not for preferences, not for measurement. There is no analytics code, no advertising code, and no third-party script on any page of this site — including this one.

That is why you have not been asked to accept anything. A banner asking permission to do nothing would be theatre.

What is stored in your browser

Two values, both in local storage, which is not a cookie: it is never attached to a request, so it is not sent anywhere and cannot be read by another site.

Your sign-in

When you sign in, the session token is kept in local storage so you are not asked for a link on every page. It expires by itself, and signing out removes it. Without it there is no way to stay signed in, so this one is not optional — not using it would mean emailing you a link for every click.

Light or dark

The theme switch writes esf-theme so the site opens the way you left it. It holds one word. If it is missing, the site follows your operating system instead.

Clearing them

Clearing site data for everyskillfinder.com in your browser removes both. You will be signed out and the theme goes back to following your system. Nothing else is lost — none of your runs, purchases or balance live in the browser.

If this changes

If we ever add something that does set a cookie — a measurement tool, say — this page changes first and you get asked before it runs, not after. See the privacy policy for what is held on the server side.
